BMTA ACTIVITY CALENDAR

BMTA normally schedules four or five hikes per month, some “leisure” hikes that are shorter and easier and some 5 to 8 miles and of moderate difficulty. In addition, we have occasional backpacking hikes and more difficult ones that might be called “hardy hikes.” Occasionally we co-sponsor hikes with other organizations. Some, but not all, of our hikes are “dog friendly.” Although more hikes are in Georgia than the other states, you will find hikes in all three BMT states: Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

GA May 14 Work Trip

Where: Section 2b – No Name Gap
When:  Saturday, May 14, 2022
Time:  9:00 AM
Meeting Location:  Three Forks on USFS 58 https://goo.gl/maps/Ntd8J656UNdLDRvv5
Parking:  We will meet at Three Forks and caravan to the parking area below the bald –  https://goo.gl/maps/TutkhgiVhEMkTJzYA.

Plan for the day:  We will have three crews working. The primary focus will be water diversions, brushing and lopping along with some step installation

  • Crew 1 – No Name Gap Steps
  • Crew 2 – Water Diversions
  • Crew 3 – Brushing & Lopping

What to Wear and Bring:  Minimum 2 liters of water, long pants, boots, gloves and helmets available if needed. Please indicate if needed in the RSVP!
